Mikhail ChusavitinandClaude Sonnet 5 7ed652c5b1 feat: autotune PSU capacity from the same full-load run as fan ceilings
Extract the fan peak-tracking into observedPeakStore (observe max under
load, hold >= minHold to reject spikes, round, persist JSON) and add a
second instance for PSU draw (psu-observation.json, keyed by PSU
ordinal). Fed from samplePSUPower like fans are from sampleFanSpeeds, so
any full-load run refines it — the Fan Ceiling Check (which also samples
PSU power at a slow cadence off its loop and writes psu_<i>_peak_w), a
burn, thermal cycling, and the 5s web metrics collector.

/topo PSU cards now scale the load fill by wattage_w when the BMC
reports it, else by the observed peak draw — marked "~N% load". This
MSI stand's BMC gives only instantaneous input power, so the observed
peak is the only capacity figure available.

Fan behaviour is unchanged (tests exercise updateFanObservation /
estimateFanDutyCyclePctFromObservation / ResolveFanMaxRPM through the
new store).

Mikhail ChusavitinandClaude Sonnet 5 8cb250f3f4 fix(sat): fan check uses hottest GPU load + IPMI-hang-proof polling
- GPU load switches from bee-gpu-burn (compute burn, ~88% TDP) to
  dcgmproftester -t 1004 / targeted_power via
resolveBenchmarkPowerLoadCommand — the same engine Power/Thermal Fit
uses and the hottest sustained NVIDIA load we have, so fans are
  actually pushed toward their ceiling.
- Sample loop is now IPMI-hang-proof: every ipmitool read is time-boxed
in an abandonable goroutine, and the poll interval backs off
geometrically (1s→30s) when reads are slow, tightening again on
  recovery. A plateau is only trusted while telemetry is healthy;
degraded runs ride out to MaxLoadSec. Summary gains fan_samples /
  telemetry_degraded. Drops the per-second nvidia-smi+power+cpu-temp
  sampling from the hot loop.
- Dead code removed: FanStressRow, GPUStressMetric, sampleFanStressRow,
  sampleGPUStressMetrics, WriteFanStressCSV/WriteFanSensorsCSV,
  analyzeMaxTemp, sampleSystemPowerResolved.

Topology fan tiles:
- size encodes the fan's ceiling RPM (its class), not current speed;
coloured fill rising from the bottom encodes live duty cycle
(current / ceiling), shown only when the ceiling was measured.
- glyph spin rate now maps absolute RPM into a human-perceptible band
  (fanSpinPeriodSec: 2.2s/turn at <=1000 RPM, 0.35s at >=13000).
- the "N fans · N OK · tile size ∝ …" caption line is gone.

Mikhail ChusavitinandClaude Sonnet 5 bb2a501a28 feat(sat): fan ceiling check + topology fan tiles
Repurpose the previously-unwired RunFanStressTest into RunFanCheck, a
Load-tier SAT test that drives stressapptest (CPU+memory) and, when a GPU
is present, a GPU burn to 100% simultaneously, then watches every fan
until none has climbed for ~60s. The observed peak RPM per fan is the
"ceiling"; it is persisted through the existing fan-observation store.

MSI G4201 / AMI MegaRAC exposes no host-side fan force (every OEM IPMI
command returns 0xc1; Redfish Thermal is GET-only), so load-driven ramp
is the closest safe equivalent. See
bible-local/decisions/2026-09-04-fan-ceiling-check.md.

- platform.ResolveFanMaxRPM: per-fan max with fallback (persisted peak ->
peer peak -> current RPM), resolved in platform, not the view.
- platform.ErrTestNotApplicable: no load source or no fan sensors ->
task lands as cancelled ("not applicable"), never failed, so an
engineer never sees a false red. executeTaskWithOptions maps the
sentinel; finalizeTaskForResult honours a pre-set TaskCancelled.
- Verdict FAIL only for a fan at 0 RPM / IPMI cr-nr under load.
- /topo: one small spinning square per fan, sized by RPM / resolved max,
clickable through to a new "fan" component-detail type; per-fan status
recorded to the component-status DB from the fan SAT summary.
- Wiring: /api/sat/fan/run route, "fan" task target, Load-page card,
  stress-mode Run All.

Mikhail ChusavitinandClaude Sonnet 5 e4f7519ef3 feat(webui): show GPU serial in NVIDIA selection pickers
Every GPU-selection picker (Load/SAT, Burn, Benchmark) now renders the
card serial: "GPU N — <model> · <mem> MiB · sn: <serial>". The serial is
monospace and the digits that differ across the listed GPUs (common
prefix/suffix stripped) are emphasised so operators can tell cards apart.

Row markup was duplicated across three pages (and twice within
page_validate.go). Consolidated into a single module,
internal/webui/gpu_picker.go: beeGpuPicker.render({...}) builds every row;
gpuPickerCSS/gpuPickerJS are injected once by layoutHead/renderPage. Pages
keep their own selection-note text and multi-GPU toggles but no longer
hand-build <label> markup.

ListNvidiaGPUs() adds the serial via nvidia-smi --query-gpu=...,serial;
N/A is normalised to empty. Serial flows to the client unchanged through
the existing /api/gpu/nvidia JSON response.

Mikhail ChusavitinandClaude Sonnet 5 b11018ac5e fix(collector): stop pinning GPU PCIe status on an unverified idle reading
NVIDIA GPUs deliberately downclock PCIe to Gen1 at idle for power
saving, and applyPCIeLinkSpeedWarning fired on every idle collector
pass regardless - since component-status DB records never downgrade
(Record() only ever raises severity), one boot-time idle sample
permanently pinned pcie:gpu:nvidia to Warning for the rest of the
session even after every load-bearing GPU SAT test passed clean. Two
prior fixes (nvidia-smi-sourced link speed, pcie_aspm=off boot flag)
didn't hold up against this hardware/driver combination - see
bible-local/decisions/2026-08-24-pcie-gpu-gen1-idle-warning.md for the
full history.

Rather than add a downgrade path, stop writing an unverified status in
the first place: parseLspciDevice no longer calls
applyPCIeLinkSpeedWarning on the idle path. LinkSpeed/MaxLinkSpeed stay
populated as plain descriptive fields; only a verified-under-load
caller may now turn them into a status verdict.

Two new SAT targets provide that verified signal:

- pcie-link (platform/pcie_link_check.go): forces every enabled PCIe
device - not just GPUs - to retrain via the PCIe spec's Link Control
"Retrain Link" bit, then compares the negotiated speed against the
device's max. Covers NICs/HBAs/switches that have no bee-gpu-burn
equivalent load tool. Classifies by PCI class code + vendor ID, not
name substrings. Routes gpu_nvidia/gpu_amd/other sub-verdicts into
their own component-status keys so a degraded NIC never reads as a
  GPU fault.
- nvidia-pcie-bandwidth (platform/nvidia_pcie_bandwidth.go): drives
real host<->device traffic via dcgmi diag -r nvbandwidth and
resamples link speed immediately after, independent of nvbandwidth's
  own pass/fail.

Both wired into the task queue/webui the same way as nvidia-config
(routes, dispatch, priority, Validate page cards, Run All Check SAT).

Mikhail ChusavitinandClaude Sonnet 5 e036a9c7b8 boot: drop pci=realloc from default/toram GRUB entries, fold into troubleshooting entry
pci=realloc was forcing a full PCI resource reallocation on every default
and toram boot, added as a GPU BAR workaround for BIOS without Above 4G
Decoding. On a dense NVMe-backplane server it exhausted MMIO32 space and
silently dropped 4 of 6 NVMe controllers from the OS even though the BIOS
and lspci both saw them fine. It now only applies to the no-GUI/gsp-off
troubleshooting entry, alongside a bible-local ADR for the two prior
rounds of SAT/blackbox durability work.

Mikhail ChusavitinandClaude Sonnet 5 1175e6ccd8 gpu: collect reset-required/row-remap status and classify Xid codes by severity
nvidia-smi exposes reset_status.reset_required and remapped_rows.* only on
newer drivers for Ampere+ GPUs; queried via a separate exec call since an
unrecognized field name fails the whole --query-gpu command and would have
wiped out unrelated telemetry (temp/ECC/power) on older drivers otherwise.

Also refines Xid severity in both the ingest dmesg collector and the
always-on kmsg watcher: Xid 64 (row-remap InfoROM write failure) now
escalates to Critical instead of the generic warning every other Xid got,
and fixes the SAT-window flush path which previously hardcoded "Warning"
and ignored pattern severity entirely.

mchusandClaude Sonnet 4.6 2320925433 Skip PCIe link-speed warnings for disabled devices
Disabled PCIe devices (sysfs enable==0) carry no data traffic; their
link state has no operational impact. Switchtec PCIe switch management
endpoints on NVIDIA HGX H100 baseboards (and similar fabric controllers)
train at reduced speed intentionally and were producing spurious warnings.

Check is vendor-agnostic: reads enable attribute via existing helper,
no vendor/device ID hardcoding.

Documented in bible-local/decisions/2026-06-12-pcie-disabled-device-link-warning.md.

- Lenovo profile: 90s FRU timeout, streaming early-exit stops after PSU blocks found
- collectFRUEarlyExit streams ipmitool fru print and kills process once PSU blocks
are followed by a non-PSU header (~6s instead of ~108s on 54-device FRU list)
- collectBMCFirmware and collectPSUs accept manufacturer and apply profile timeouts

VROC license detection:
- Detect VMD/VROC controller in PCIe list, run mdadm --detail-platform
- Parse "License:" line; store as snap.VROCLicense in HardwareSnapshot

Blackbox service fix:
- bee-blackbox.service was missing from systemctl enable list in ISO build hook
- Service never started on boot; state file never written; UI button stayed "Enable"

- platform/sat.go: RunCPUAcceptancePack(baseDir, durationSec) — lscpu + sensors before/after + stress-ng
- app/app.go: RunCPUAcceptancePack + RunCPUAcceptancePackResult methods, satRunner interface updated
- app/panel.go: CPU row now reads real PASS/FAIL from cpu-*/summary.txt via satStatuses(); cpuDetailResult shows last SAT summary + audit data
- tui/types.go: actionRunCPUSAT, confirmBody for CPU test with mode label
- tui/screen_health_check.go: hcCPUDurations [60,300,900]s; hcRunSingle(CPU)→confirm screen; executeRunAll uses RunCPUAcceptancePackResult
- tui/forms.go: actionRunCPUSAT → RunCPUAcceptancePackResult with mode duration
- cmd/bee/main.go: bee sat cpu [--duration N] subcommand

Mikhail ChusavitinandClaude Sonnet 4.6 1c80906c1f feat(tui): rebuild TUI around hardware diagnostics (Health Check + two-column layout)
- Replace 12-item flat menu with 4-item main menu: Health Check, Export support bundle, Settings, Exit
- Add Health Check screen (Lenovo-style): per-component checkboxes (GPU/MEM/DISK/CPU), Quick/Standard/Express modes, Run All, letter hotkeys G/M/S/C/R/A/1/2/3
- Add two-column main screen: left = menu, right = hardware panel with colored PASS/FAIL/CANCEL/N/A status per component; Tab/→ switches focus, Enter opens component detail
- Add app.LoadHardwarePanel() + ComponentDetailResult() reading audit JSON and SAT summary.txt files
- Move Network/Services/audit actions into Settings submenu
- Export: support bundle only (remove separate audit JSON export)
- Delete screen_acceptance.go; add screen_health_check.go, screen_settings.go, app/panel.go
- Add BMC + CPU stress-ng tests to backlog
- Update bible submodule
- Rewrite tui_test.go for new screen/action structure

Mikhail ChusavitinandClaude Sonnet 4.6 76a17937f3 feat(tui): NVIDIA SAT with nvtop, GPU selection, metrics and chart — v1.0.0
- TUI: duration presets (10m/1h/8h/24h), GPU multi-select checkboxes
- nvtop launched concurrently with SAT via tea.ExecProcess; can reopen or abort
- GPU metrics collected per-second during bee-gpu-stress (temp/usage/power/clock)
- Outputs: gpu-metrics.csv, gpu-metrics.html (offline SVG), gpu-metrics-term.txt
- Terminal chart: asciigraph-style line chart with box-drawing chars and ANSI colours
- AUDIT_VERSION bumped 0.1.1 → 1.0.0; nvtop added to ISO package list
- runtime-flows.md updated with full NVIDIA SAT TUI flow documentation
