Installs a local-premount initramfs hook that intercepts bee.wipe=all before
squashfs is mounted. Shows a numbered disk selection TUI (pure POSIX sh), wipes
selected disks (nvme format / blkdiscard / dd fallback), syncs, and reboots.
Works even when squashfs fails to mount.

mksquashfs 4.5.1 (bookworm) writes a non-SQUASHFS_INVALID_BLK value for
xattr_id_table_start in the superblock even when -no-xattrs is passed, if
the source chroot contains POSIX ACL xattrs set by dpkg at install time.
Linux 6.1 squashfs driver then fails with "unable to read xattr id index
table" and refuses to mount the filesystem.
Strip all xattrs from the chroot via Python3 (already present) immediately
before mksquashfs runs. With an xattr-free source tree the resulting
squashfs is guaranteed to have SQUASHFS_INVALID_BLK in the xattr field.

IPMI hang fix (Lenovo XCC SR650 V3):
- Add pluggable ipmi_profile system with per-vendor timeouts and fruEarlyExit flag
- Lenovo profile: 90s FRU timeout, streaming early-exit stops after PSU blocks found
- collectFRUEarlyExit streams ipmitool fru print and kills process once PSU blocks
are followed by a non-PSU header (~6s instead of ~108s on 54-device FRU list)
- collectBMCFirmware and collectPSUs accept manufacturer and apply profile timeouts
VROC license detection:
- Detect VMD/VROC controller in PCIe list, run mdadm --detail-platform
- Parse "License:" line; store as snap.VROCLicense in HardwareSnapshot
Blackbox service fix:
- bee-blackbox.service was missing from systemctl enable list in ISO build hook
- Service never started on boot; state file never written; UI button stayed "Enable"
Drop qrencode:
- Remove from package list, standardTools API check, and runtime-flows doc

live-boot already uses rsync --progress when /bin/rsync exists; without
it the copy falls back to silent cp -a. Add rsync to the ISO package
list and install an initramfs-tools hook (bee-rsync) that copies the
rsync binary + shared libs into the initrd via copy_exec. The hook then
rebuilds the initramfs so the change takes effect in the ISO's initrd.img.

- grub.cfg: add "load to RAM (toram)" entry to advanced submenu
- install_to_ram.go: resume from existing /dev/shm/bee-live copy if
source medium is unavailable after bee-web restart
- tasks.go: fix "Recovered after bee-web restart" shown on every run
(check j.lines before first append, not after)
- bee-install: retry unsquashfs up to 5x with wait-for-remount on
source loss; clear error message with bee-remount-medium hint
- bee-remount-medium: new script to find and remount live ISO source
after USB/CD reconnect; supports --wait polling mode
- 9000-bee-setup: chmod +x for bee-install and bee-remount-medium

lb binary_grub-efi and lb binary_syslinux create these files from templates
that already have memtest entries hardcoded. The hook should not fail when
the files don't exist yet — validate_iso_memtest() checks the final ISO.
Only the binary files (x64.bin, x64.efi) are required here.

ver_arg was set to "=memtest86+=VERSION" making the command
"apt-get download memtest86+=memtest86+=VERSION" (invalid).
Fixed to build pkg_spec directly as "memtest86+=VERSION".
Also add apt-get update retry if initial download fails.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- Switch all lb mirrors to mirror.mephi.ru/debian/ for faster/reliable downloads
- Disable security repo (--security false) — not needed for LiveCD
- Pin MEMTEST_VERSION=6.10-4 in VERSIONS, export to hook environment
- Set BEE_REQUIRE_MEMTEST=1 in build-in-container.sh — missing memtest is now fatal
- Fix 9100-memtest.hook.binary: add apt-get download fallback when lb
binary_memtest has already purged the package cache; handle both 5.x
(memtest86+x64.bin) and 6.x (memtest86+.bin) BIOS binary naming
Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- grub.cfg + isolinux/live.cfg.in: add pcie_aspm=off,
intel_idle.max_cstate=1 and processor.max_cstate=1 to all
non-failsafe boot entries
- bee-hpc-tuning: new script that sets all CPU cores to performance
governor via sysfs and logs THP state at boot
- bee-hpc-tuning.service: runs before bee-nvidia and bee-audit
- 9000-bee-setup.hook.chroot: enable service and mark script executable

- Bootloader: GRUB fallback text colors → yellow/brown (amber tone)
- CLI charts: all GPU metric series use single amber color (xterm-256 #214)
- Wallpaper: logo width scaled to 400 px dynamically, shadow scales with font size
- Support bundle: renamed to YYYY-MM-DD (BEE-SP vX.X) SRV_MODEL SRV_SN ToD.tar.gz
using dmidecode for server model (spaces→underscores) and serial number
- Remove display resolution feature (UI card, API routes, handlers, tests)

losetup --replace --direct-io=on fails with EINVAL when the target file
is on tmpfs (/dev/shm), because tmpfs does not support O_DIRECT.
Strip the --direct-io flag from the replace call and downgrade the
verification failure to a warning so boot continues.

- Add feh and python3-pil to package list
- Add chroot hook that generates /usr/share/bee/wallpaper.png using PIL:
black background, EASY-BEE box-drawing logo in amber (#f6c90e),
"Hardware Audit LiveCD" subtitle in dim amber — matches motd exactly
- bee-openbox-session: set wallpaper with feh --bg-fill, fall back to
xsetroot -solid black if wallpaper not found
Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- Add bee-boot-status service: shows live service status on tty1 with
ASCII logo before getty, exits when all bee services settle
- Remove lightdm dependency on bee-preflight so GUI starts immediately
without waiting for NVIDIA driver load
- Replace Chromium blank-page problem with /loading spinner page that
polls /api/services and auto-redirects when services are ready; add
"Open app now" override button; use fresh --user-data-dir=/tmp/bee-chrome
- Unify branding: add "Hardware Audit LiveCD" subtitle to GRUB menu,
bee-boot-status (with yellow ASCII logo), and web spinner

memtest86+ postinst does not place files in /boot in a live-build chroot
without grub triggers. Added fallback: extract directly from the cached
.deb via dpkg-deb -x, with verbose logging throughout.
Also remove "NVIDIA no MSI-X" from boot menu (premature — root cause unknown).

- build.sh: add --variant nvidia|amd; separate work dirs per variant
(live-build-work-nvidia / live-build-work-amd); GPU-specific steps
(modules, NCCL, cuBLAS, nccl-tests) run only for nvidia; deb package
cache synced back to shared location after each lb build so second
variant reuses downloaded packages; ISO output named
easy-bee-{variant}-v{ver}-amd64.iso
- build-in-container.sh: add --variant nvidia|amd|all (default: all);
runs build.sh twice in one container for 'all'; --clean-build wipes
both variant work dirs
- package-lists: remove GPU packages from bee.list.chroot; add
bee-nvidia.list.chroot (DCGM) and bee-amd.list.chroot (ROCm)
- 9000-bee-setup hook: read /etc/bee-gpu-vendor; enable bee-nvidia.service
and DCGM only for nvidia; set up ROCm symlinks only for amd
- auto/config: --iso-volume uses BEE_GPU_VENDOR_UPPER env var
- grub.cfg: add nomodeset to EASY-BEE and EASY-BEE (load to RAM) entries
— fixes X/lightdm on BMC KVM (ASPEED AST chip requires nomodeset for
fbdev to work; NVIDIA H100 compute does not need KMS)
- bee.sh / smoketest.sh: add /usr/sbin to PATH so dmidecode, smartctl,
nvme are found
- 9100-memtest hook: add diagnostic listing of chroot/boot/memtest* files
Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- Add udev rule: /dev/ipmi0 readable by 'ipmi' group (no sudo needed)
- Add 'ipmi' group creation and bee user membership in chroot hook
- Remove legend from all charts (data shown in GPU table below)
Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- Add rocm-validation-suite, rocblas, rocrand, hip-runtime-amd,
hipblaslt, comgr to ISO (~700MB, needed for HIP compute)
- RunAMDStressPack: run RVS GST (SGEMM ~31 TFLOPS/GPU) + bandwidth test
- Add rvs symlink in chroot setup hook
- Pin all new package versions in VERSIONS
Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- Add rocm-bandwidth-test package to ISO
- Add bee user to 'render' group (/dev/kfd, /dev/dri/renderD* access)
- Add rocm-bandwidth-test symlink alongside rocm-smi

memtest files live in chroot /boot (inside squashfs) but GRUB needs
them on the ISO filesystem. Binary hook copies them out at build time.

Move datacenter-gpu-manager and rocm-smi-lib from dynamic chroot hooks
into live-build's config/archives mechanism so lb caches the .deb files
in cache/packages.chroot/ between builds, eliminating repeated 900+ MB
downloads. Versions pinned via VERSIONS and substituted into package
lists at build time.

Removes ~100-300MB from the squashfs: man pages, non-en locales,
python cache, apt lists and package cache, temp files and logs.

startx from user shell has /dev/fb0 permission issues and is fragile.
LightDM starts Xorg as root — standard LiveCD approach that works
on server hardware / IPMI KVM with nomodeset + fbdev/vesa.
- Add lightdm package, configure autologin as bee/openbox session
- Add /usr/share/xsessions/openbox.desktop
- Remove startx from .profile (LightDM manages X lifecycle)
- Remove Xwrapper.config needs_root_rights workaround (no longer needed)
- Enable lightdm.service in setup hook

AMD does not publish Debian Bookworm packages at all (only focal/jammy/noble).
Switch ROCM_UBUNTU_DIST to "jammy"; jammy packages install cleanly on
Debian 12 due to compatible glibc. Also expand candidate list to include
point-releases (6.3.4, 6.3.3, …) so we pick the latest actually-published one.

ROCm 6.4 does not yet publish a Release file for Debian Bookworm, causing
the live-build chroot hook to fail with "does not have a Release file".
Try each version in ROCM_CANDIDATES order; skip to the next if apt-get update
fails (repo unavailable). Exit gracefully if none are available.
Also rename inner 'candidate' variable to 'smi_path' to avoid collision.

- firmware-amd-graphics: Aldebaran firmware blobs (fixes amdgpu IB ring
test errors on MI250/MI250X at boot)
- 9001-amd-rocm.hook.chroot: adds AMD ROCm 6.4 apt repo and installs
rocm-smi-lib for GPU monitoring (analogous to nvidia-smi)
